Tigercat forestry and logging equipment: more about Tigercat
Tigercat
production
On the shop floor, Tigercat
uses a "team build approach." Assembly teams of two
build a machine from start to finish and then sign off on it.
Because each machine is a reflection of the individuals who built it,
quality is controlled by accountability.
Production at Tigercat is efficient and flexible. Assemblers
are cross trained -- to build other Tigercat products or make service calls in the field
if necessary.
As an extra measure, Tigercat’s
pre-delivery inspection or PDI teams ensure that every Tigercat machine is
assembled to the highest standards.
They constantly look for ways to
improve assembly procedures and provide clear feedback to the build teams.
The PDI teams also work closely with
the warranty department, tracking component quality and in-field
performance.
Steel
fabrication
Significant advantages result from Tigercat's strong affiliation with MacDonald
Steel.
Recently, Tigercat acquired the Metalfab facility along
with its advanced machining and fabricating technology.
Skidder components will be fabricated in one bay and
assembled into finished machines in an adjacent bay.
