| Tigercat Releases New Undercarriage Along with Closed Loop Drive Feller Buncher |

PARIS ON, JANUARY 10, 2008 – As Tigercat periodically adjusts and expands its product offering to meet the changing requirements of logging professionals throughout the world, the company has recently released a new leveling undercarriage and along with it a new track carrier model. The new R6152L leveling undercarriage shares the same design elements as Tigercat's R7150L undercarriage first introduced in 2000 and used on the L830C and L870C series machines. The primary goals of the new leveler were to reduce weight and provide a lower cost leveling undercarriage that would work well with smaller platforms offered by Tigercat. The R6152L uses F8 (D6 sized) track components. According to serior designer, Bruce Vaile, the roller bearing components used in the major pivot axis are identical to those used in the larger R7150L leveling system. The leveling cylinder seal packs and ball bushings are common as well. The undercarriage is 280 mm (11 in) narrower and 4 090 kg (9,000 lb) lighter than the FH400 leveler but has the same track length. The bottom corner of the track drive motor housing is clipped, preventing the undercarriage from plowing a furrow through the soil. This leaves extra power available for hill climbing. The prototype undercarriage has been mated to an 822C platform equipped with closed loop track drives. The new model, designated LX822C is working in mountainous terrain in interior British Columbia. Feedback has been positive. The operators have commented favourably on the track power and stability and also noted the low operating temperatures of the engine, hydraulic oil and track drive gearbox. The lighter weight LX822C climbs hills more quickly than the LX830C and will likely achieve better fuel economy without giving up too much of the stability that has made the 35 000 kg (76,000 lb) L830 series machines so popular in BC and the Pacific Northwest.
