| Tigercat E-Series Drive-to-Tree Feller Bunchers |
All four drive-to-tree models are upgraded to E-series with Tier III enginesPARIS ON, MAY 25, 2007 – With the debut of the 718E at the Sawlex live demo in South Carolina on May 18-19, Tigercat has now upgraded all four drive-to-tree feller buncher models to the E-series designation. For the 718E this means a new Cummins QSB6.7 Tier III power plant with an output of 129 kW (173 hp). The 718 is the smallest, most compact feller buncher in the line-up. It is best suited to first and second pine plantation thinning applications. To keep the overall length as short as possible, the 718E is not equipped with cross-flow cooling although Tigercat's standard cooling system arrangement that draw air from the sides of the machine behind the cab provides superior cooling airflow compared with competing feller bunchers. The 720E and 724E are the most versatile machines in the line-up, performing well in high production row thinning, selective cut and final fell applications in all but the toughest wheel feller buncher terrain. For slopes and oversized, top-heavy hardwood, the 172 kW (230 hp) 726E is very capable with rock-solid stability.
