Tigercat Debuts 1018B at Elmia Wood 2003
ELMIA WOOD, SWEDEN, June 23, 2003 - Tigercat exhibited three machine
models at Elmia Wood, 2003 held from June 11-14. The show was well attended by
forestry professionals from Sweden, Finland, Norway, Russia, U.K and numerous
Baltic States.
Tigercat presented a selective thinning demo with the H09 harvester and F700
forwarder. The H09, alternately piloted by owners Magnus and Bruno Kempe, wowed
audiences with its ability to adeptly maneuver through the forest without
contacting or damaging any standing timber. The incredible performance can be
attributed to operator skill, an overall width of only 2.1 m, the tapered cab
and a side-tilting Mowi boom system.
Tigercat also debuted the 18 tonne 1018B forwarder. According to export manager
Gary Olsen, "The 1018B was without a doubt the show stopper with our booth
being constantly overwhelmed by attendees. The interest in the 1018B and the
soon to be 1014 was exceptional and those who saw the first prototype two years
ago were already making comments about the obvious improvements they see in the
subsequent machine."
1018B enhancements include stronger, lighter weight front and rear chassis, an
improved control system and better service access. The valves are consolidated
in one location and accessible at ground level.
