New Tigercat Forwarder Line-up

PARIS, ON, February 21, 2005 – Tigercat has modified the current forwarder line and plans to expand the product offering in the coming months. The new line-up will consist of models 1055, 1065 and 1075 ranging in capacity from 14 to 20 tonnes.
The successful Tigercat 1014 model that was launched early in 2004, has been relabeled the 1065. It is the mid-range model of the three machine line-up. The 1065 is an 18-tonne capacity machine capable of operating in challenging terrain.
The 1065 can be customized to meet the specific needs of applications in North America, Europe and Australia. Using various bunk and crane configurations, the 1065 can be optioned to handle single 16-foot logs or customized to double bunk 3-metre log lengths.
The 1018 series forwarder will be replaced by the Tigercat 1075. The 1075 has more component commonality with the 1065 including the spacious operator’s station and responsive computer-controlled hydraulic system. The 1065 and 1075 are both powered by the Mercedes 906 engine rated at 228 and 241 hp respectively.
Differences between the two models include larger bunk options, 20-tonne rated bogies and a stronger drive line for the 1075. It's a super-duty 20-tonne forwarder for the world’s toughest high-production transporting applications.
The newest model, scheduled to launch in mid-2005, is the 1055 forwarder. This 14-tonne capacity machine will be equipped with 14-tonne bogies and smaller, narrower bunk options for selective thinning and some clear fell applications. The 1055 will retain many of the design characteristics of the larger machines.
Recently, the first 1065 shipped to the United States was purchased by J.C. Witherspoon Jr. Inc. for use in pine plantation operations in eastern South Carolina. The machine is partnered with a new Tigercat H822 harvester equipped with the Tigercat 650, Witherspoon’s second Tigercat harvesting head. There are a number of 1014/1065 forwarders operating in eastern Canada in selective cut and clear fell applications.
With the release of the new forwarder line, Tigercat is positioning itself as a leading manufacturer of cut-to-length machinery.
