Tigercat Hosts ALC Summer Board of Directors Meeting
PARIS ON, JULY 11, 2007 – Tigercat
was proud to host the 2007 American Loggers Council (ALC) Summer Board of
Directors meeting this year in Brantford, Ontario Canada. The meeting, held in
conjunction with a two-day visit to the Tigercat facilities from June 27-30, was
attended by 71 of the most influential loggers in the United States and
represented the full spectrum of logging applications.
Tigercat opened its doors, showcasing its fabricating, machining and
assembly facilities. Visitors from the ALC were introduced to the company's
design strategy -- to engineer the most cost effective and productive
purpose-built logging equipment in the world.
Highlights of the tour included a presentation given by Mark Ryans,
Forest Engineering Research Institute of Canada (FERIC), on the
hot topic of the future opportunities of forest biomass and relevant harvesting
practices. Among the many informative speakers, Gary Olsen, Tigercat marketing
manager for the Southern Hemisphere talked about the expanding forestry
industries in the Southern Hemisphere and Jon Cooper, Tigercat CTL product
manager presented on the evolution of the skidder, from the every first
motorized attempts at skidding logs to today's highly sophisticated designs.
After the two full days of presentations and plant tours, the entire group
met for dinner in Niagara Falls before returning to Brantford for the ALC Board
of Directors Meeting, held on the final day.
Tigercat wishes to thank the ALC for the opportunity to host this event.
