Tigercat adds M822 track carrier to mulcher line
Tigercat is developing an expanding
line of prime movers for land clearing applications.
PARIS, ON, OCTOBER 28, 2005 – Logging equipment manufacturer, Tigercat
offers a field-proven line of purpose-built four-wheel drive mulcher carriers
for land clearing applications. The 245 hp M726D is designed to propel
horizontal drum mulching attachments requiring up to 200 hp. The larger M760 is
a specialized machine for high duty cycle applications and can be fitted to
attachments requiring up to 400 hp.
The latest addition to the mulcher line-up is the M822, a track-based carrier
that Tigercat has been building for many years for extremely demanding tree
felling and harvesting applications throughout the world.
The M822 mulcher can propel horizontal drum mulching attachment requiring up
to 210 hp. It is well suited to rough terrain and slopes as well as soft soil
conditions where low ground pressure is required. The first two units have been
equipped with Fecon BH80EXT mulching heads.
The 280 hp 822 carrier is field-proven in demanding logging operations
throughout the world. The upper assembly is built on a solid steel 1.25 in.
turntable and mounted to a long-life forestry-duty undercarriage. The wide, high
clearance carbody enables the machine to negotiate tough terrain and the long
track frames provide excellent stability.
The 822 has a high capacity cooling system as it is designed to operate in
high ambient temperatures and in applications where there is a great deal of
airborne debris. All Tigercat mulcher carriers are equipped with hydraulically
driven fans with a reversing cycle to clean debris from the radiator and oil
cooler.
The M822 operator's station has excellent visibility to the front and to both
sides. A floor to ceiling front windshield also serves as the primary
entry/exit. The cab is insulated, isolation mounted and climate controlled.
