Tigercat track loaders add versatility
Tigercat T234 and T250B track loaders add versatility on the deck, in-field or at the
mill yard.
PARIS ON, FEBRUARY 4, 2008 – Tigercat offers two track loader
models, the T234 and the T250B. Both machines are powered by the Cummins
QSB6.7 Tier III engine. The T234 is rated at 129 kW (173 hp) and the T250B at 153
kW (205 hp). Both machines benefit from an advanced load sensing hydraulic
system that improves performance and fuel efficiency.
With fast boom cycles and powerful swing torque, Tigercat track loaders
achieve high production in challenging delimbing and loading applications. The
load sensing flow-on-demand hydraulic system ensures simultaneous control of
all machine functions, excellent fuel economy and reduced heat generation.
Another fuel saving feature is the automatic idle down. The machines idle
down during periods of inactivity. As soon as the operator actuates a
function, the engine speed moves back to working speed.
The machines are equipped with an oversize swing drive gearbox and a large
bearing common to all Tigercat swing machines. A dedicated pressure compensated
piston pump ensures that the operator always has full swing torque
and speed.
The Tigercat loader designers have taken special care to ensure that
components are located for optimal service access. The engine is mounted high in
the frame for better access through large front and rear doors to both sides of
the engine. The valves are easily accessible
underneath the walk-up platform beside the cab.
Both loaders are standard equipped with the F6140 heavy duty forestry
undercarriage. With a Tigercat-built carbody and track frames, D6D 203 mm pitch
track chain and high tractive effort, the undercarriage is very durable and
the loaders highly capable on or off the deck. Both the T234 and T250B have
the capability to travel to a secondary landing or staging area and to perform
in-field sorting, merchandising or light duty shovel logging duties.
Although both machines are standard equipped with a 9,75 m (32 ft) boom system, the T250B can be optioned with the SD (SuperDuty) package
that includes an 11 m (36 ft) boom, live heel, 3 400 kg (7,500 lb) counter
weight and the massive F6155 flotation undercarriage for added stability. In
conjunction with the optional 1 675 mm (66 in) cab riser, this machine is very
well suited to high log pile stacking and mill yard applications.
