BRANTFORD ON, April 20, 2011 – The event was held April 13-15 on 118 hectares of eucalyptus plantations owned by International Paper, located in Mogi Guaçu, São Paulo state.
Tigercat demonstrated a typical high production system for a seven year old eucalyptus plantation: 860C feller buncher equipped with a 5000 series bunching saw to maximize bunch sizes for a 635D six-wheel drive skidder. The TurnaroundTM equipped 635D cab is ideal in this application, reducing cycle times and improving cab ergonomics. In addition, Tigercat demonstrated its LS855C shovel logger. This efficient, multi-functional machine is used for forwarding in steep and wet terrain. In addition it can work at the deck to organize wood for the processors, increasing both skidder and processor productivity.
Finally, Tigercat had a 480 track mulcher on site. This machine has promising possibilities in site preparation and silviculture plantation applications in Brazil, Australia and other southern hemisphere countries.
